Community Paediatrics

Our community paediatric doctors are a team of specialist children’s doctors with skills and expertise in child development, immunisation, social and educational paediatrics.  They work within a number of multidisciplinary teams to assess and meet the health needs of children and young people with disabilities or special needs, those who are ‘Looked After’ or where there are concerns regarding a child’s safety.

Community paediatricians work closely with, and provide medical advice to, the Local Education Authority and Social Service Department. Close links are maintained with Brent Child and Family Unit and the local Hospital Paediatricians with access to facilities for investigation and, when required, hospital admission at Central Middlesex Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital.

The team comprises of 3 Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 3 Staff Grade Practitioners, 1 Senior House Officer and 3 Specialist Registrars. In addition 2 Associate Specialists work part-time within the Community Paediatric Audiology service.
