The community paediatric dietitian works as part of the multidisciplinary team providing nutritional assessment, treatment and education for children, their families and carers.

There is currently one paediatric dietitian based at the Wembley Centre for Health and Care. Children referred by their medical practitioner are seen in the paediatric dietetic clinic at the Wembley Centre. Clinical service involves one to one assessment, treatment and follow up. The paediatric dietitian also works with the Child Development Service and at a specialist feeding clinic held for children attending Hay Lane school. 

The paediatric dietitian is involved in health promotion activities across the PCT and acts as an expert resource on children’s nutrition for other health professionals.
