NHS Brent has undertaken a pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA) to provide a robust assessment of services, to ensure that there is fair and equitable allocation of resources and allocation of contracts in the future. The PNA enables identification of the varying needs of the tPCT’s population and assists the prioritisation, planning and delivery of services in the most resource effective way. Findings of the PNA have been used to stipulate the full and prescribed range of services required for future NHS pharmacy contract applications.
