About Brent DAAT l Strategy l Structure l Membership l

The work of Brent DAAT is guided by these four main strategies:
Young Person Substance Misuse Plan: Preventing today’s young people from becoming tomorrow’s vproblematic drug users, through the provision of proactive services such as diversionary programmes.
Communities Engagement Plan: Reducing the harm that drugs and alcohol cause to society, communities, individuals, and their families. Building community capacity and resilience against the effects of drugs misuse and related crime.
Adult Treatment Plan: Increasing access to drug treatment service through the provision of services that reflect the diversity of ethnic communities that are currently underserved in Brent. Reducing drug related death through harm minimisation.
Drugs Intervention Programme Plan: Moving drug offenders away from a life of crime into treatment, thereby reducing acquisitive crime such as burglary, thefts, vehicle crime and gun crimes.
The Brent DAAT aims to be involved in the detection, prevention, and treatment of drug and alcohol misuse through working in partnership. We provide accessible services for wide range of drug users within agreed waiting times. We have timely, appropriate and joined up treatment and rehabilitation for drug using offenders. We have improved service for stimulant users. We engage users and carers in the planning processes of the provision of local drug treatment services. We provide services that reflect the needs of underserved groups such as women drug users, black and minority ethnic groups etc. We provide drugs and alcohol training to the partnership, community based groups and the voluntary sector. We engage drug offenders in treatment services, moving them away from life of crime into treatment. We provide referral to support services such as housing, employment, education and training to offenders moving back into the communities.
