The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) have published: ‘Urinary Incontinence. The management of urinary incontinence in women’ Clinical Guidline 40.
This important document offers best–practice advice on the care of women with urinary incontinence. It describes assessment and investigation, conservative and surgical management. There is also a quick guide, flowchart and patient information available.
Brent Continence Service works towards achieving the highest standards of continence care. We aim to promote healthy bladder and bowel functions through training, education, information and advice to patients, carers and professionals. This may include, day and night time wetting, soiling, constipation, weak pelvic floor, post natal problems and catheter care and management.
Continence Advisors run various clinics at Wembley and Willesden. There is an open referral system and self-referral is encouraged. The treatments offered are based on assessment.
Community nurses will see and assess housebound patients and those unable to attend clinic.
