Mark Easton
Chief Executive

Mark Easton joined NHS Brent as Chief Executive in October 2007. Before that he was Interim Director of Strategy at NHS London, the strategic Health Authority for the capital. He was also Interim Chief Executive of the North Central London Strategic Health Authority before NHS London was created.

Mark has worked extensively in the acute sector and was deputy chief executive at a London teaching hospital trust. He has worked in general management in the acute and mental health sectors and was project manager for the merger of the Royal Free and Royal National Throat Nose and Ear hospital trusts.


 

Peter Savege
Medical Director

Peter Savege qualified in medicine in 1964. After 21 months as a junior hospital doctor he moved into general practice as a principal for 21 years. He then spent a year at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine doing an MSc in Public Health. This prepared him for a move into medical management in which he held a variety of posts over the next 21 years.

His ambition is to assist colleagues in primary care to have the best possible impact on the healthcare of the local population.

Hussein Khatib
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Community Services

Hussein Khatib became Chief Operating Officer of Brent Community Services on 1 April 2009. Brent Community Services will be the Autonomous Provider Organisation made up of NHS Brent’s community healthcare services.

Hussein worked for a short period as an Interim Programme Manager at Brent. Before that, he had a long career in the NHS working in both the hospital and community sectors, and for the last 15 years has held various director posts. His background is in General and Children’s Nursing and he has an MBA from the University of Leeds.

Charles Allen
Director of HR

The HR Directorate is responsible for all aspects of employment and development for staff in the PCT. This includes recruitment, training and development, terms and conditions of employment and services to staff such as support with child and care commitments and our Occupational Health service.

The HR Directorate endeavours to ensure that high standards are followed in the way staff are employed and managed, particularly in relation to equality and diversity.


Simon Bowen
Acting Director of Public Health & Regeneration

The directorate comprises core public health, health promotion, the Health Action Zone, the Applied Research Unit, the Teaching PCT and hosts the haemoglobinopathy network co-ordinator and administrator for multidisciplinary public health for the NW London sector.
 
The public health directorate seeks to improve the health of the population of Brent, and improve the health of those worst off fastest, with knowledge of the distribution of diseases in populations, analysis, latest evidence and partnership working.
